Like many other ra sufferers I find it sooooooo annoying when people ask/or find out I have ra, they only seem to hear the athritis bit and have absolutley no understanding of the difference. I get the usual 'oh i've got that where's yours?'Its so frustrating!!!

Maud, totally agree, I now say that I have an auto immune illnes which affects my joints initially, causing pain and damage, but which can be far more serious affecting organs.
This usually works, as they then say things like "oh thats awful, what can be done"
I just think its better than people saying, "oh yes arthritis, my aunt/gran/neighbour has that"

Im coz I feel yr pain it's annoying to say the least, It was not that long ago that this was a big topic on the forum, it's prob still here somewhere!! there was lots said, and some good responses to those who's "granny has that too in their little finger"!! I know I shouldn't mock but COME ON lol , I just smile and say oh dear!!! unfortunatly they only hear one word when you try to explain!! thats why we need to keep talking about it and spread the word.............
